Imagine the days of barnstorming,
a gallon of fuel for less than 25 cents, an hour in a Piper Cub
for $4 and a $2-per-hour shop rate. This was the atmosphere in
1945 when Willmar Air Service began its tradition of customer service.
A second-generation family business and the oldest FBO in Minnesota,
Willmar Air Service has been in operation for nearly 60 years.
Willmar
Air Service has specialized in Mooney sales and service since 1956.
Today, we're excited to announce the new Columbia Aircraft as part of
our program. Whether you're an experienced aircraft owner or
considering your first purchase, our friendly staff invites your
questions.
Through the years, a long-term dedicated staff, a continually
growing parts inventory, fair pricing and quality service have
led to an enviable customer base. A visit with any Willmar Air
Service customer would quickly explain the reason for the company's
many years of success. Today, staff members include experienced
maintenance technicians, a full-time parts manager and pilot, and
sales and
office personnel. A recent Willmar Air Service retiree who worked
as a mechanic and inspector for more than 45 years exemplifies
the dedication of our staff.
Until
recently, the growth of Willmar Air Service has been primarily
supported by Mooney aircraft sales and service. Safety, performance,
value, training and customer satisfaction have always been our focus.
When we made the decision to expand services, the new Columbia Aircraft
became the obvious choice. We're truly excited to have been selected as
the factory authorized Columbia sales and service center for Minnesota,
North and South Dakota, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
We're also pleased to report that the city of Willmar, in cooperation
with the state and federal government, is in the process of
constructing a new
airport, maintenance
facility and terminal building. In addition to adding a significant
margin of airport safety and needed upgrade of the facility, the
new image will complement a premier Columbia Sales and Service Center.
Owner Bruce Jaeger, Willmar Air Service president for 25 years,
has logged more than 14,000 flight hours, including more than 3,500
hours as a flight instructor. This history, along with years of
parts and service experience and the support of an experienced
and knowledgeable staff, assures customers of an honest answer
to questions about aircraft care and operation. As an aircraft
owner, you can depend on the service, support and education that
distinguish Willmar Air Service from others.
